William Arvil Webster Anderson, 96, of Romance went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 30th at his home. He was born November 23, 1923 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late George and Lillie (Rosa) Anderson.
William was a United States Navy Veteran having served honorably during WWII. He was a Missionary Baptist Minister having surrendered to the Lord and his call to preach in 1972. He went on for the next 48 years in the ministry pastoring eight Missionary Baptist Churches, seven in Arkansas and one in Texas. He retired from the Railroad after 25 years. He loved to farm and raise beef cattle. William was a kind, compassionate, hardworking man. He was faithful and loyal. Married to the love of his life for over 75 years. William truly cherished his family and treasured all his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 75 years, Betty Anderson of the home; one daughter, Malia Brogan (Gary) of Romance; one son, Jimmy Anderson (Ava) of Heber Springs; five grandchildren, Preston Anderson, Leslie Johnson, Michelle Peppers, Becky Olson, and Allen Burroughs; ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, as well as many beloved extended family members.
In addition to his parents William was preceded in death by one sister, Maudie Thomas.
