U.M. Hughes

U. M. Hughes, 83 of Albion died August 27, 2006. Born February 22, 1923 in Letona, he was the son of the late Jackson A. and Priscilla Williams Hughes. He was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Reda "Paulette" Southerland; one sister, Lolita Hill.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Calhoun Hughes; son, Donald Mirandus Hughes and wife Mia of California; three daughters, Shirley Ann Phillips of Searcy; Violet Willis and husband Sidney of Heber Springs; Kathy Mason and husband James of Memphis; 18 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren.
