Thomas Daniel Van Horn, 60, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at his home in Floral, Arkansas. Tom was born on January 15, 1955 to Russell Lee and Betty Sue (McCall) Van Horn in Bradford.
Tom was a fun loving person for his entire life. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor and immense enjoyment he received when watching TV and movies. He enjoyed watching Nascar races, collecting model cars/trucks, and photography. Tom left us all with a host of precious memories, from matching scars on the knee to the incredible nature photos he took. The many hours spent patiently waiting for the shot he knew was there is evident in the works he has left for us all to enjoy.
After obtaining his GED certificate, he went on to complete a course of study at Foothills Vocational Technical School in the tool and die trade. He met the love of his life, Sharon, while working at Toolcraft in Bald Knob and they married on June 15, 1985.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 30 years, Sharon Kay (Castor) Van Horn of the home; his daughter, Mindy Yancey and her husband, Danny, of Judsonia; and his son, Seth Van Horn and girlfriend, Ashley Beck, of Little Rock; and his two grandchildren, Dacus and Sydney Yancey of Judsonia. He is also survived by four brothers, Larry Van Horn and wife, Shirley, of Floral; Terry Van Horn and wife, Connie, of Tonitown, Arkansas; Danny Van Horn and wife, Pamela, of Swartz Creek, Michigan; John Polston of El Paso, Arkansas; three sisters, Sue Morrow of Harrietta, Michigan; Kay Litaker of Floral and Joan Boatright and husband, Patrick, of El Paso, Arkansas. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents as well as his paternal grandparents, Ardell Van Horn and Ruby (Harris) Van Horn and his maternal grandparents, Thomas Lloyd McCall and Lakey May (O'Brien) McCall.
