Shirley June Castleberry

Shirley June Castleberry, 88, of Searcy, Arkansas, passed away May 29, 2026. She was born June 13, 1937 to the late Sam and Clara (Hopper) Murdaugh.

Shirley was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished friend to many. She lived a life centered on faith, family, and service to others.

A longtime member of Judsonia Church of Christ, Shirley's faith was an important part of her life. She was deeply committed to her church and found great joy in worship, fellowship, and serving those around her.

Shirley was a caregiver at heart. Throughout her life, she devoted herself to helping and caring for others, always offering kindness, compassion, and support to family, friends, and those in need. She also faithfully served her community through her work at the White County Tax Collector's Office.

She loved cooking and found happiness in preparing meals for those she loved. More than anything, Shirley treasured time spent with her family, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.

Shirley will be remembered for her loving spirit, unwavering faith, generous heart, and the countless lives she touched. Her legacy of love, service, and devotion will live on in all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by son, Donald Castleberry (Jeanine) of Searcy, a granddaughter, Brandy Cook (Jared) of Paragould; two grandsons, Ross Castleberry of Heber Springs and Troy Duncan (Kelly) of Cibolo, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Brayden Cook, Madison, Joseph, and Zoey Castleberry, and Madison, Emily, Abby, and AJ Duncan.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, David Castleberry.

A graveside service will be held, 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at the Holly Springs Cemetery.
