Guestbook

Ray Waters was my dad's best friend (Ray G. Cooper). Ray and Ray were close from way back in the 60's when they were in politics together and often traveled to Washington DC together. Ray Waters was my dad's attorney, which I am sure my dad needed at many times in his life. :) When my daddy was dying of cancer in 1994, Ray Waters was the ONLY friend he wanted to see in the hospital, and Ray Waters stayed with daddy up until the end. He was a true friend to daddy. Dad also asked him to be a "stand in" grandpa "if Jeananne EVER decides to have kids". Well, I am blessed with one, Samantha, and Ray Waters was there the day she was born, and at all of her milestone birthdays, and he never forgot her one time for her birthday or Christmas - even this past year when he wasn't feeling very well he still sent her a card which we will cherish forever. In case you can't tell, I am a HUGE Ray Waters fan. My family and I are blessed to have had him in our lives and I am thankful I know his kids and grandkids. Praying for all of you. Your daddy will me missed.

Mary Catherine, I am sorry for the loss of your father. My name is Nancy Baskin Polk, daughter of Mary Anne. I live in Florida, but because of Mom's friendship with your dad, I also played bridge with him on Pogo. We spoke on the phone once about an issue about my mother-in-law and legal issues with her driving at her age. He was such a gentleman and very helpful. I am hoping for peace for you and the entire family. God Bless.

Mary Catherine, Allen & families, My love and deepest condolences to you and yours. You neither one know me, but your mama does. I'm so sorry to learn of your loss. No matter what age, when our kids hurt, we hurt. I'm thinking about you and have you all in my prayers. xo p.
