Peggy Dial Shearer, 78, of Searcy went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 24, 2016. She was born January 26, 1938 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to the late Earnest and Floy Dial.
Peggy was preceded death by her parents; fraternal grandparents, Joe and Minnie Dial; maternal grandfather, Joe Lumley; step-mother, Ruth Dial; sister, Charlene Zachary; daughter, Carla Ann Shearer; son, Danny Wayne Shearer; niece, Sheny Kay Smith; brothers-in-law, Bill Smith, and Joe Wood; mother and father-in-law, Arnold and Kate Shearer.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 56 years, Dan W. Shearer; niece, Cheryl Nelson of Wichita, Kansas; sisters-in-law, Barbara Smith, JoAnn Wood, and Kay Jeffrey; nephew and niece, Billy Wayne and Jana Smith; nieces, GiGi Wood Davis, Princess Wood Tharpe, Jennifer Jeffrey McFall; nephews, Jody Wood, and Sandy Wood, and many friends.
Peggy was a past member and secretary of Souls Harbor Church in Searcy, Arkansas; and a present member of Family Worship Center Media Church.
During the 1950's right out of high school she was a telephone operator for South Western Bell Telephone Company in Little Rock, Arkansas. Later Peggy attended Oklahoma State University, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, majoring in nurse science and working over 35 years in clinical nursing in Oklahoma and Ohio.
In 2001, Peggy began working in medical records at White County Medical Center in Searcy, Arkansas where she retired from in 2007.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 28th, from 1:00-2:00pm, at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 28th at 2:00 pm. at the Searcy-McEuen Chapel.
Burial will follow at Henderson Cemetery in Pangburn, Arkansas.
