Paul Dean Wortham

July 4, 1942 — February 6, 2021

Paul Dean Wortham, 78, of Searcy passed away Saturday, February 6th at The Springs of Searcy. He was born July 4, 1942 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to the late Cecil and Lockie (Hisaw) Wortham.

He was a charter member of Libby Road Missionary Baptist Church in Heber Springs. He was faithful in church until his health wouldn't allow it. Paul was secure in his faith in the Lord. He was a good person. He was a people person. He didn't have any trouble striking up a conversation whoever was around. In his final years, Paul became unable to communicate verbally but he always greeted family and health care workers with a smile. He was loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years, Wilma Wortham; two sons, Timothy Paul Wortham of Judsonia, and Mark Wortham (Susan) of Searcy; six grandchildren, Will, Tabitha, Ray, Cecelia, Daniel, and Nathan; one great granddaughter, Serenitie; four brothers, Ron Kelley, Wayne Kelley, Avis Kelley, and Steve Kelley; two sisters, Ernestine Gooch, and Charlie Theede; and two special caregivers, Lettie Squire with Elite Hospice and Carol Pool with White River Area of Aging.

In addition to his parents Paul was preceded in death by one son, Jonathan Wortham; and one brother, Cecil Wortham.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM on Thursday, February 11th at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will start at 2:00 PM in the Searcy McEuen Chapel with Bro. Chuck Roach officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Wortham, Tim Wortham, Ray Wortham, Daniel Wortham, Will Wortham, Nathan Wortham, and one Honorary Pallbearer Bill Theede.

Interment will be at the Gum Springs Cemetery.

All Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Searcy McEuen Funeral Home.
