Ollie Vera Robinson

Ollie Vera Robinson, affectionately known as “Muff” and “Aunt Muff,” was born on March 1, 1938, in Searcy, Arkansas, to John and Ethel Robinson. She was a woman of deep faith, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose love, strength, generosity, and presence touched countless lives.

Ollie was a proud graduate of the 1956 White County Training School in Searcy, Arkansas. She carried the values she learned throughout her life and was a woman who believed strongly in family, faith, hard work, and helping others.

She was the House Manager for over 20 years, at the White County Boarding home, where she loved caring for the elderly who needed long term care. She worked there until her retirement!

Her faith was an important part of who she was. She was an active part of her church community, Bethlehem Baptist Church, serving in the Women’s Ministry as well as the Kitchen Ministry. She found joy in serving others, and that spirit of service could be seen not only at church, but everywhere she went.

Ollie was an incredible cook. She had a special way of making sure nobody left her home hungry. Her caramel cake and chicken and dressing were among the foods her family will always remember. More than the food itself, they will remember the love she put into preparing it and sharing it with others.

She was a woman who loved her family deeply and individually. She had a special relationship with each of her grandchildren and somehow knew exactly how much love and attention each one needed. She knew how to give each grandchild the love they needed without ever making one feel more loved than another.

Ollie was blessed with a large and loving family. She leaves to cherish her memory 20 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and loved ones. Her family was one of her greatest joys, and she took pride in watching each generation grow.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Robinson; mother, Ethel Robinson; sister, Dorothy (Leon) Young; son, Oliver Jackson; grandsons Stephen Gibbs & Oliver Hart; and a great-grandson, Crew Jackson.

Ollie was a loving mother to Sabrina Faye Jackson, Mary Dannette Jackson, John Marshall Robinson (Evelyn), Sarah Louise Robinson, Harold Christopher Robinson (Tongela), Troy Eugene Jones (Renitha), and Ethel Marie Robinson. She is also survived by her beloved brother, John Robinson Jr (Dorothy). She poured her love into her children and continued that love through the generations that followed.

Ollie was known for keeping an immaculate home. She was extremely clean, and her family often joked that you could literally eat off her floors. Her home reflected the care and pride she took in everything around her.

She had a fun-loving side, too. Ollie loved playing dominoes, and her favorite game was double nines. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of spending time with family and friends, laughing, talking, and enjoying the people around her.

She also loved her soap operas. Her television could take her from The Young and the Restless, to All My Children, and now to Beyond the Gates. These shows became part of her daily routine and are just another one of those little things her family will remember about her.

In the late 1980s, Ollie became one of the founding members of the Ebony Society, an organization established by seven women who came together to bring entertainment and culture to White County. Through their efforts, blues legends such as B.B. King and Little Milton were brought to the community. Her involvement reflected her love for her community and her desire to create experiences that brought people together.

To know Ollie was to know someone who gave of herself. She shared what she had, fed whoever needed feeding, welcomed people into her home, loved her family fiercely, and made people feel cared for. Her love was not simply spoken—it was shown through her cooking, her service, her laughter, her cleanliness, her faith, and the countless ways she cared for others.

Though her family will deeply miss her presence, they will continue to carry her memory in the traditions she created, the lessons she taught, the food she prepared, the games she played, the shows she watched, and most importantly, the love she gave so freely.

Ollie Vera Robinson will forever be remembered as a woman of faith, a woman of family, a woman of service, and a woman who knew how to make everyone around her feel loved.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home, 2616 South Main Street, Searcy, Arkansas 72143, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM.

 Burial will be at the Gum Springs Cemetery in Searcy, repast will follow at the Riverview High School, 810 Raider Drive, Searcy, Arkansas 72143.
