Merna Jean Bohannon

Friends and Family will be gathering to celebrate the life of Merna Jean (Vandiver) Bohannon, who passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015.

Close friends and family will certainly remember Merna's zany sense of humor. From her delight at unsuspecting guests reacting to the 8-foot stuffed Frankenstein monster in her formal dining room; to once being a curious, but terrified, costumed onlooker, to a late night hippie-biker gathering with two of her beloved nephews, who shall remain nameless. Almost everybody she knew has a comical Merna story.

Ms. Bohannon is survived by her daughter, Cindi Bohannon and her son, Mark Bohannon both of Searcy; two sisters, Emo Whitmire of Searcy and Joy Stemple of Cabot; two brothers, Ray Vandiver of Judsonia and Jimmy Vandiver of Searcy; three brothers-in-law, Jim Bohannon of Searcy, Gary Bohannon of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Bo Bohannon of Searcy; her best buddy, Joanne Pickens of Searcy; and many other dear friends, relatives and her beloved Papillon, CeeCee.
Ms. Bohannon was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Bohannon; her parents, Carl and Madge Vandiver; and two sisters, Patsy Fitch and Rachel Garner.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
All Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
