Melvin Gene Houston

Melvin Gene Houston, 80, of Pangburn, Arkansas passed away November 28, 2025. He was born in White County, Arkansas January 29, 1945 to Arnold Lonnie Houston and Clara Elmus Harper Houston.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and 6 siblings, Junior Dale Houston (Opal), Ardell Houston (Margie), Arlin Houston, Lonnie Gerald “Jerry” Houston, Olin Doyle “Boomer” Houston (Linda) and Freda Bernice Houston (Danny Vinson). He is survived by David Christiansen.

Melvin lived his whole life in Pangburn with the exception of working for GTE as a telephone cable installer in Willow River, Minnesota. He owned gas stations in Pangburn and Heber Springs, and did paint and body work for a few years. He also served in the United States Army.

He was a workaholic and found great pleasure in working. He also had a big heart and enjoyed helping people. Melvin will be laid to rest at Henderson Cemetery at a later date. No services are scheduled. Arrangements by Searcy McEuen Funeral Home. Searcymceuenfuneralhome.com.
