Melba Ghent Haynie was born August 20, 1924. She obtained her life long goal to be with her Lord and Savior December 11, 2025 at home with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hardin Haynie; daughter, Hallie Jo Jordan; 3 sisters; and 5 brothers.

She was blessed with a son, Freddie Haynie (Darlene); 3 grandsons, Tracy (Robyn), Matthew, Marcus; and honorary grandson, Michael DeLong; 3 great-grandsons, Jonathon, Dusten and Grant; 4 great-great-grandchildren, Olivia, Isabelle, Wyatt and Emilie.

Melba and Hardin were founders and members of Foster’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Searcy for many years. She held many roles in the church such as playing piano, teacher, secretary, janitor, and nursery worker. They later became members of Park Avenue Baptist Church where they have stayed for 40 years. Melba loved the church fellowship and her pastor, Keith Lunceford.

She donated faithfully to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and retired from CAPA Head Start as their coordinator.

A memorial service celebrating Melba’s life will be held at Park Avenue Baptist Church on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. A private family interment will be at Foster’s Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements by Searcy McEuen Funeral Home. www.searcymceuenfuneralhome.com.
