Maurice Lee Fisher

Maurice Lee Fisher, 89, of Searcy passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at his home. He was born in Olyphant, Arkansas on December 21, 1928, to the late Basil and Violet (Rutledge) Fisher.

Maurice was a very active member of West Side Church of Christ. He retired from General Motors in Flint, Michigan. He also worked for Harding University for 7 years as a Security Guard. Maurice always kept a neat and beautiful yard. In earlier years he had a wonderful garden. He was a farmer at heart. He was a good man, very honest and caring. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 68 years, Montine Fisher; three grandchildren, Lori Fisher, Christopher Fisher, and Kevin Fisher all of Illinois; five siblings, Norman O. “Buddy” Fisher of Newport, Wilma D. Hendrick of Athens, Texas, Imogean Falwell (Farrell) of Sherwood, Barbara Coombs (Charlie) of Cabot, and Chester Fisher of Jacksonville.

In addition to his parents, Maurice was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis and Alan Fisher.
