Marshall Ryan Hughes

d. July 27, 2020

At the young age of 41 and after a brief illness with cancer, Marshall Ryan Hughes moved to his heavenly home on July 27, 2020, while surrounded by family.  He had accepted Christ as his Savior and had deep faith in God.

He is survived by his parents, Edwin and Wynette (Black) Hughes of Letona, brother Dr. Bradley Hughes of Searcy, grandmother- Alma Black of Letona, aunt- Carolyn (Black) Allen and husband Steve of Springfield, MO, two cousins- Shauna Morris (Craig) of Fort Worth, TX, and Shelly Stephens (Brian) of Pineville, MO,  two dogs, Dottie and Rosie, plus extended family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lola and Cleston Hughes and W.J. (Dub) Black.

Marshall graduated from Searcy High School in 1997 and from University of Arkansas in 2001.  He was employed by Beardsley Public Finance, a subsidiary of Crews & Associates.  He loved working with schools, cities, and towns in helping them obtain financing for various needs.  He enjoyed his work and established many enduring friendships.

Being passionate for kids who needed encouragement and to hear the gospel of Christ, Marshall served on the Board of Directors for the Searcy chapter of Young Life.  He served his fellow outdoorsmen through his efforts on the Foundation Board of the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission.
