Mark Edward Smithey

Mark Edward Smithey, 52, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020.  Mark was born in Searcy, Arkansas on January 22, 1968 to Carl and Thurley (Jones) Smithey.

Mark loved hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers, piddling in the shop and racing (especially the 85 square body affectionately known “Anita’s Nemesis”).  Mark enjoyed socializing and had an open shop door policy.  Family was dear to Mark and he loved spending time with them.  He was a loving husband, of 24 years, father, grandfather, and friend.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 24 years; Anita Smithey, three sons; Dustin DeVore, Cody DeVore, and Dylan Smithey, father; Carl Smithey, father-in-law; JR Bland, brother-in-law; Mike Bland (Danette), nephew; Mitchell Smithey (Mary), one grandson; Braxton “toots” DeVore, three nieces; Micah Bradley (Jordan), Paige Bland, and Tara Colunga (Jose), three great nephew; Keaton “ Bo” Bradley, Gabriel “G-Man” Colunga, and Aiden “Bubba” Colunga.

He is preceded in death by his mother; Thurley Mae Smithey, mother-in-law; Carolyn Bland, and nephew; Dakota Smithey.
