Maria Noziglia

June 1, 1937 — January 16, 2018

Maria Alphonzina DiFuccia Noziglia, 80, of Little Rock, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 16th at Hickory Heights Health and Rehab Center in Little Rock. She was born June 1, 1937 in Erie, Pennsylvania to Vincenzo and Philomena (Vallone) DiFuccia.

Left to cherish her memory are eight children, Filomena (James) Kizer of Ohio, Patrick (Marsha) Salman of Little Rock, Gene (Patricia) Salman of Searcy, Belinda Plastiras of Little Rock, Angela (Steve) Deen of Searcy, Mary (Jimmy) Womack of Mayflower, Daniel (Tammy) Salman of Sherwood, and Teresa (Jimmy) Burrow of North Carolina. Grandchildren include, Elizabeth Kizer, Amanda Glick, Monica (Matt) Frankart, and Stephanie Kizer all of Ohio, Kelsey (Kristyn) Salman of Texas, Kalin Salman, Landon Salman, Joshua Salman, Nicole Salman, Andrew Salman, Ashleigh Plastiras, Anna Marie Plastiras, Jacob Shourd, Jordan Shourd, Christina Holt, Jonathan Holt, Adrianna Womack, Mallari Jordan, all of Arkansas, and Cameron Burrow of North Carolina, and great-grandchildren, Maddison and Natalie Glick of Ohio. She is also survived by her brother, Frank (Elaine) DiFuccia of Pennsylvania.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Paul DiFuccia, Nello DiFuccia, Jimmy DiFuccia, and her sister, Margaret Krolak.

A life-long Roman Catholic, Maria was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Searcy where she volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister and was also a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary. She was involved as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher, as well as a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader. She more recently was a volunteer at White County Medical Center in Searcy. She was an avid gardener and could grow nearly every flower, fruit, or vegetable there is. She was an accomplished seamstress and sewed many of the garments for her family. Maria was a wonderful cook and often prepared the Italian recipes that were handed down from her mother. She was especially known for her homemade pasta, sauce, and bread. She was very creative and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, drawing, and painting. Maria loved to sing and dance and enjoyed movies, especially musicals from the 40’s and 50’s. Her great pride and joy was her children and grandchildren whom she loved very much.
