Lola Mae Wheeler Higbee, 86, of Searcy passed from this life August 30, 2012. She was born August 13, 1926 near Keefton, Oklahoma in Muskogee County. She was the daughter of the late Clayton and Elsie Lee Cavin Wheeler. She married William Berwin Higbee February 21, 1946 and he preceded her in death on June 11, 2000.
Mrs. Higbee grew up for the most part in McIntosh County, Oklahoma near Chocotah. She became a Christian in 1940 and always kept her commitment to Christ in mind wherever she went. She traveled with her Air Force husband, and at times faith was hard to keep, but prayer always overcame throughout trials and tribulation of rearing a family traveling around the world.
The family moved to Searcy in August 1971, and Mrs. Higbee worked as a medical secretary for over 17 years, under Dr. Rodgers, Dr. Simpson, and Dr. Glen Blue. She worked in the business office and emergency room at Central Arkansas Hospital for many years.

She is survived by four sons, William Robert, (T.R.) Tyndal, Charles Rondale and Cary Len Higbee; two daughters, Markita Sherk and Ronda Higbee; three brothers, T.J., James F., and Eugene D. Wheeler; two sisters, Mary Lee McMahon and Beatrice Cantrell; seven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends.
