Lisa Joann Churchwell

Lisa Joann (Smith) Churchwell was born to Charles and Jeannette Smith in Atlanta, Georgia on July 24, 1966. Lisa and her brother, Charles (Chuck) Smith grew up in Michigan. In 1983, her mother married C.A. Brown and the family moved to Des Arc, where she completed high school at Des Arc. In 1985, she married her husband of 39 years, Troy Churchwell.

Lisa helped Troy on the farm early in their marriage. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Heath Duke in Des Arc, AR for 4 years; a chiropractor assistant and receptionist for Dr. Russell Evans, chiropractor at Arcare for 6 years; a receptionist for Horton Orthotics in Searcy, AR for 8 years; but her favorite job was becoming “Grannie” and baby sitter to her 3 precious grandchildren. She enjoyed her every Friday night “girls night out” with her best friends, Connie Whaley, Jamie Eans, and Charie Richards.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Troy Churchwell of Griffithville, AR; her brother, Charles (Chuck) Smith of Michigan; her daughter, Cassi (Richie) Farrish of Des Arc, AR; her son, Jason Churchwell of Griffithville, AR; grandsons, Konnor, Elijah, and Jaxon of Des Arc, AR.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Jeannette Comstock Smith Brown; father, Charles Smith; step-father, C.A. Brown; and her favorite uncle, L.E. Erwin.

Lisa stepped into eternity on August 14, 2024 surrounded by family and friends at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN after an acute illness.
