Laverne H. Mcdonald

Laverne H. McDonald, 75, of Searcy, went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2007. She was born August 22, 1931 in Smyrna, Arkansas, the daughter of the late James Wesley and Janie Lee (Smalley) Hilton. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a member and also a past Matron of Ingram Watkins #548 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member and secretary of Woodman of the World Searcy Lodge #68.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas McDonald of Searcy; her son, James D. "Yogi" McDonald, Sr. and wife, Wanda of Bald Knob; her daughter, Janie Sue Murry and husband, Tommy of North Little Rock; sister, Wanda Jones of Searcy; three grandchildren, Denton McDonald and wife, Karen of Searcy, Chris McDonald and wife, Melissa of Poyen and Greg McDonald of Searcy; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at Higginson Assembly of God Church with Rev. Johnny Price and Rev. Jim Wiley officiating. Interment will follow at Dogwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel McDonald, Dale Snelson, Tom Feather, Gene Thrasher, Clyde Hilton and Kevin Burrow. Honorary Pallbearers will be Denton McDonald, Ethan McDonald, Chris McDonald, Dylan McDonald, Greg McDonald and Andy McDonald.
