Latonia June Piker, 60, of Searcy, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023 surrounded by family. She was born May 29, 1962 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the late Doyle and Opal (Castleberry) Pasley.
Tonia was a loving mother, grandmother, friend, and teacher. She poured her love and time into the White County Central School District for 32 years before she retired. Her entire career was spent teaching and loving children. The impact that she had on this community goes beyond teaching; her love and care for the students she interacted with will carry on for generations to come.
She was not only a mother to her daughters, but her daughters’ friends that spent time in their home. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, and cooking for family and friends. Also when she became a grandmother her time was well spent spoiling her grandkids.
Westside Church of Christ was her home church where she continued teaching a Bible Class.
She is survived by her daughters, Jonna Sanchez (Miguel) and Hannah Pankey (Adam); grandchildren, Connor Dane Pankey and Hazel Ruth Pankey; sister, Cindy Holden (Wayne); many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and colleagues.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Danny Piker and her parents, Doyle and Opal Pasley.
