Karl Eugene Shafer Sr.

Karl E. Shafer Sr., 79, of Searcy went to meet the Good Lord on July 12, 2020.  He was born June 23, 1941 in Georgetown, AR.  He was a lifelong farmer and professional equipment operator.  In Karl’s words a jack of all trades but master of none.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years; Vonda McKay Shafer, two sons; (Gene) Karl E. Shafer Jr. and (Mitch) Mitchell Wayne Shafer his wife Tamara, three grandkids; (Trey) Karl E. Shafer III his wife McKennly, Nathan Lynn Shafer, Alyssa Phillips, one great-grandchild; Kimber Jane Shafer, one sister; Robbie Shafer Payne her husband Phil, one brother; (Bobby) Robert O. Shafer his wife Angie, nieces and nephews; Scott Payne, Dana Payne Edwards, (Mac) Robert, Eric, Allison, Clay, great-nieces and nephews; Nathan, Dean, Phillip, Anna, and Jessica.

He was preceded in death by his father; Robert O. Shafer Sr., mother Yeyou McGuire Shafer, grandfather; R. E. Shafer his wife Ducky, Poppa McGuire and Momma McGuire, and nephew Scott Payne.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. in the Searcy McEuen Chapel.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to:
