Karl E. Shafer, Jr.

Karl E. Shafer, Jr., 48, went home to be with the Lord on October 26, 2023. Gene was born in Searcy, Arkansas on January 7, 1975 to Vonda and Karl E. Shafer, Sr. For 19 years he worked at Bryce Corp. in the maintenance department. His love for farming, livestock, and working on old vehicles was only exceeded by his bigger joy, his sons and granddaughters.

He is survived by his sons, Karl Eugene Shafer, III (Trey) and his wife McKennly and Nathan Shafer and his wife Alexis; three grandchildren, Kimber Jane Shafer, Kollyns Grace Shafer, and Maelynn Jo Shafer; his mother, Vonda (McKay) Shafer; and one brother, Mitchell Wayne Shafer and wife Tamara.

He is preceded in death by his father, Karl E. Shafer, Sr., grandfather, Robert O. Shafer, Sr. and his wife Wyeyou Shafer; his maternal grandfather, Henry M. McKay and his wife Zeley K. McKay.

 A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Searcy McEuen Funeral Home Chapel.
