JR Humes

JR Humes, 88, of Ward, Arkansas went to his heavenly home November 27, 2016. He was born March 26, 1928 in Higginson, Arkansas to the late James and Lula Mae (Warner) Corbin.

JR was a passionate hunter and fisherman. He was fond of telling jokes to close family and confidants. JR also enjoyed tinkering with motors which was one of his favorite pastimes. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, and friend.

Left to cherish Mr. Humes' memory is his wife of 66 years; Pauline (Dixon) Humes; one son, Aaron Humes (Jami) of Cabot, four daughters; Sue Caraway (Phil) of Judsonia, Sherry Hemm, Teresa Lawson, and Jennifer Taylor all of Ward; Twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents JR was preceded in death by seven brothers; Jewel Humes, JC Humes, Floyd Humes, Dallas Humes, Delbert Humes, Marlin Humes, and Junior Humes, two sisters; Dorlis Rutherford, and Margie Denny.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 3:00-6:00pm, at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 2, 2016 at 2:00 pm. at the Searcy-McEuen chapel with Pastor Keith Tomlinson officiating.
Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Bald Knob, Arkansas.
