JoNell` Townsend

Jo Nell Townsend, 89, of Rose Bud passed away Wednesday, January 17th at Southridge Nursing Home in Heber Springs. She was born May 5, 1928 in Romance, Arkansas to the late William and Lucille (Rogers) McKay.

Jo Nell was a hairdresser for 45 years. She loved to garden and even enjoyed putting up all the garden produce whether it was freezing it or canning it. She enjoyed being outdoors raising flowers, keeping her yard up and taking her daily walk. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Danny Townsend (Debbie) of Rose Bud, and Gary Townsend (Marilyn) of Rose Bud; one daughter, Diane Apple (Larry) of Batesville; one brother, Dewayne McKay of Hayti, Missouri; one sister, Billy Jean McCann of Datto, Arkansas; five grandsons, Chad Townsend, Thad Townsend, Dustin Townsend, Brad Apple, and Brandon Apple; and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, January 22nd from 6:00-8:00pm at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 23rd at 1:00pm in the Searcy McEuen Chapel with burial following at Romance Cemetery.
