John Lawson Churchwell

John Lawson Churchwell, 74 of Griffithville, passed away Friday, February 25, 2011. He was a member of Souls Harbor Church. He loved gardening and fishing. He retired from Remington Arms as a machinist.

He is preceded in death by his parents; William Arthur and Amy Colwell Churchwell and four brothers; J. E. Henderson, Stanley Henderson, William Churchwell and Billy Churchwell.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years; Betty Ethridge Churchwell of Griffithville; one son, Tim Churchwell of McRae; one daughter, Patsy Blackwood of Searcy; one brother, Thomas (Lucy) Churchwell of Searcy; one sister, Jeanette Feather of Griffithville; four grandsons, Derek (Whitney) Blackwood and Kevin Blackwood, both of Searcy, Wesley and Alex Churchwell, both of McRae; one granddaughter, Kelly Blackwood of Searcy and one great-grandchild, Rome Blackwood of Searcy.

Visitation will be 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Griffithville, AR.
