Jerry Wayne Faulkner

Jerry Wayne Faulkner, Jr., 46, of Searcy, Arkansas, left to be with our Lord on Friday, August 21, 2015. He was born July 27, 1969 in Wynne, Arkansas to Jerry W. Faulkner, Sr., and Shirley (Brown) Faulkner.

Jerry was a loving husband, devoted son, brother and friend and will be sorely missed. A graduate of Center Hill School, Jerry worked with his father in the restaurant business for a number of years. Afterwards he worked as a dispatcher with the Searcy Police Department for ten years then finally for Spitale Transportation since 2002. Jerry was a volunteer for the Center Hill Fire Department since 1987 except for the four years he lived in Trumann AR. He started as a volunteer and served the last several years as Fire Chief.

Saved as a child, then baptized in the Holy Ghost at age 14, Jerry was faithful to his Lord and Savior. He preached his first sermon at age 7 and his last sermon last Saturday night, "Whom Say Ye that I Am?". Jerry was faithful to his wife, faithful to his family, and faithful to his church. He was the most giving person you could meet and was driven to succeed so that each year he could give a little more. He was unashamed of who he was, what he believed, and the people he loved.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 23 years, Amy Faulkner; parents, one sister, LaJanna Myers (Brian), of Searcy, his Grandma Brown, and many nieces and nephews, friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hubert and Geneva Faulkner and Hubert Brown.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 23, 2015, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, August 24, 2015, at 10 A.M. at Mt. Zion Christian Fellowship Church, followed by interment at Center Hill Presbyterian Cemetery.

All arrangements have been entrusted to Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home

I can't hardly believe this. I loved little Jerry. I remember gathering at the hill and all of us would play church and little Jerry was always the preacher. He did a good job of it at the @12yrs old. I'm deeply sadend seeing this.

He towered over the audience while standing on a chair behind the pulpit at CFC on Hwy 36, and years later we all took our turn standing in the same place. He always enjoyed a good joke and prided himself as a great basketball player on the courts at CHS where the competition was always fierce on a Sunday afternoon. His red and white S-10 of years past was underpowered; however, it was the first one out of the packing lot when the beeper went off. The 7 minutes it took me to cook the Sonic fish sandwich was worth his wait. The cold spring days in Trumann didn't dampen his sense of duty as we stepped in after a tragic loss. These are the ways I remember Jerry Jr.
