Jeffory Dean Melrose

October 17, 1973 — November 3, 2022

Jeffory “Jeff” Dean Melrose, 49, went to be with his Heavenly Father on November 3, 2022.

On Oct 17,1973, God blessed this world with a bouncing baby boy that was named
Jeffory Dean Melrose. Yes, his name is spelled differently and he has been
different ever since. Because he was born while his dad was stationed at Yakota
Air Base in Japan, he would tell people that he was half Japanese. He was a gifted
athlete that loved to play several sports and later coach some. He had a love for
kids (everyone for that matter) and was a Youth Pastor for a while. God blessed
Jeff with a wonderful son, Dawson, (also a gifted athlete) and they enjoyed many
years spending time together on and off of the fields of play.

Jeff had a way of making everyone feel loved and welcomed. He was the kind that
never met a stranger, or at least anyone stranger than himself. He had a wit about
him that kept everyone laughing and on their toes. You just never knew what he
was going to do or say next. There are many wonderful things that could be said
about Jeff, but the greatest and most important, is that Jeff was a child of God. He
had that assurance that when his time came to leave this earth, he would claim the
promise that Paul made when he said “to be absent from the body is to be present
with the Lord”. Jeff will be missed, but not soon forgotten. That physical body that
troubled him through the years will soon be laid to rest, but for Jeff it has simply
been left behind. Jeffory Dean Melrose, you are loved by all who knew you and
now meeting and making new friends and family

Jeff was a faithful member of New Life Church.  He enjoyed many activities, especially playing softball, ragball, and golf.  Jeff was a die-hard Tennessee Vols fan and loved the St. Louis Cardinals.  He enjoyed listening to all kinds of music.  But the one thing that was most important to him was family.  Jeff will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish Jeff’s memory is the love of his life, wife; Emmie Melrose, son and best friend; Dawson Melrose, parents, Jim and Anita Melrose; one sister; Bethany Smith, two stepchildren; Dathan Smith and Bray Medler, grandfather; Lloyd Young, grandmother; Billie Melrose, and daughter-in-law; Hailey Melrose, niece; Abby Smith, nephew; Zachary Smith.

Greeting him in Heaven are Nana (Betty) Young and Grandpa (Bob) Melrose, paternal grandfather; Bob Melrose, maternal grandmother; Betty Young, and a sibling before life on earth.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at New Life Church in Searcy.

Funeral services will immediately follow visitation at 1:00 PM, also at New Life Church.  Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
