James A. Brackenridge

James Alton Brackenridge, 77, of Searcy, AR went home to be with our Lord and Savior on June 24, 2025, while surrounded by loved ones. James was born August 15, 1947, to the late Ocie and Ellena Brackenridge. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, of 59 years; their sons, James David Brackenridge (Stacy), Randy Brackenridge (Jackie), and Bryan Brackenridge (Jennifer); his sisters, Sylvia Hooten, Shirley Howard (Larry), and Joyce Stevens (Jerrel); 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a host of loved ones. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ocie and Ellena Brackenridge; his brothers, Darrell Brackenridge, Eddie Wayne Brackenridge, Laveral Brackenridge, Verlie Brackenridge, Tommy Brackenridge; his sisters, Goldie Jones, Juanita Rigsby, Doris Stevens, and Geraldine Coleman. 

James enjoyed being outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing, but above all, he loved being with his family. To know James was to know the purest love and the best sense of humor.

Visitation for James A. Brackenridge will be at Searcy Faith Assembly of God on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service. Burial will be at Searcy Faith Cemetery.
