Gordon LaRue Parker

January 10, 1958 — March 26, 2022

Gordon LaRue Parker, 64, of Greers Ferry, Arkansas, passed away on March 26, 2022, at his home. 

 

Gordon was born in Heber Springs, Arkansas on January 10th, 1958, and graduated from Searcy High School.  He continued his education to earn a degree in accounting from Arkansas State University, where he met his wife, Patricia Parker.  



He flew airplanes with initial ambitions to be an air force pilot.  Afterward, he began his career at an investment firm in Little Rock, Arkansas as a highly-skilled accountant.  After the birth of his first son, he moved to Greers Ferry, Arkansas where he opened a convenience store, “Parker’s Bend”, with his wife.  Soon after, they opened a grocery store, “Parker’s Big Star”, and moved to live on and operate a cattle ranch.


Gordon was an extremely hard worker and dedicated father who always found himself the happiest when he was surrounded by family and friends.  He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.

 

 

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Zelma Parker (Searcy, AR), his three children William Ryan Parker (Austin, TX), Patrick Gordon Parker (Greers Ferry, AR), and Clare Michelle Parker (Conway, AR), and two grandsons, Avery Parker, and Emery Parker.  Gordon also leaves his three siblings and their spouses of Searcy AR: Amanda (Ed) McZegle, Sheila (Jimmy) Covey, and Tony (Shawna) Parker.  Additionally, are his nieces, Rhonda Covington-Webb (Searcy, AR), Tiffany Shae Douglas (Tulsa, OK), Heather Cantrell (Searcy, AR), and his nephews Garry Lynn Baker (Searcy, AR) and Joshua Covey (Searcy, AR).  He also leaves many great-nieces and nephews: Cory Covington, Zach Huddleston, Chase Huddleston, Baunan Douglas, Aidian Douglas, Ethan Cantrell, Christain Cantrell, Lily Cantrell, Will Cantrell, Mia Parker, Oz Baker, and AJ Baker.


He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Parker, and his beloved wife, Patricia Parker.

 


The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, April 2nd from 9:00-10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 am at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home, 2616 S Main St in Searcy, Arkansas.

 

All Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Searcy McEuen Funeral Home.
