Gerald Dean Cook

September 27, 1931 — February 18, 2021

Gerald Dean Cook was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He left this earth on February 18, 2021 at the age of 89.  He was born September 27, 1931, to Henry King (“HK”) and Ruth Cook in Pangburn, Arkansas of (White County).

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 59 years Mary Ellen Cook; 2 sons Danny Gerald Cook, Joey Lynn Cook, 1 brother Lyngale (Glenda) Cook, 2 sisters Helen (Carlisle) Armstrong and Roselene (Junior) Adams.  He is survived by his brother Noris (Reba) Cook, Patricia (Don) Baugh, his son Steven Randall Cook, and grandchildren Natasha Poteat, Amber Stuckey, Coty Cook, Ashley Tucker, Coby Cook, Courtney Fortson, and Shane Cook.  He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

 

After graduating from Pangburn High School, he worked for the Highway Department before being drafted into the United States Army where he served honorably.  After his military career, he worked for Remington Rand for 20 years and then 13 plus years at OTC in Searcy, Arkansas.  As he worked until retirement he also farmed and worked to achieve several rental properties to aid in retirement. He loved his family, working outside, and always had a dog as his companion whom he always named “CoCo”.  Gerald Dean and Mary Cook attended Plainview Church of Christ for many years.  Gerald Dean was well loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.   


All Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Searcy McEuen Funeral Home.
