Freddie “Fred” Duncan, 79, of Searcy, Arkansas, passed away on February 19, 2026, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Freddie was born on July 9, 1946, in Texarkana, Texas, to Winston and Bobbie Brosius Duncan. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert Duncan; his sister, Linda Duncan; and his wife Carolyn Duncan.

He leaves behind his daughter, Leigh Anne Green (Kyle); his grandson, Brady Green (Jaydynn); and his granddaughter, Brenna Green. He is also survived by his sister, Bobbie Ann Walker; his brother, Tommy Duncan (Gail); bonus children Kathy Ramsey (Bodie), David Doggett, Dee Dee Doggett, Jerry Don Hamm (Amanda), and Stephen Hamm (Misti); and many bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren.

To so many people he was “Freddie,” “Fred,” or his CB handle “Fat Man,” but to me he was Daddy.

He spent his early childhood in Guernsey, Arkansas and then his family moved to Malvern, Arkansas. He was a 1965 graduate of Malvern High School. He spent his entire adult life as a truck driver and retired from Walmart after many years on the road. Driving wasn’t just a job to him — it was part of who he was. He loved traveling, camping, playing cards with friends, and especially riding his Gold Wing trike. If there was an adventure to be had, he was ready to go.

My daddy never met a stranger and always found someone to talk to wherever he went. He had the biggest personality in the room and a laugh that could stop the show, literally. When you heard that laugh, you knew it was him. He loved his friends fiercely and was loved just as deeply in return.

One of his greatest joys was playing Santa Claus at Christmastime. He didn’t just wear the suit he became Santa. Seeing the smiles he brought to children and families filled his heart.

He loved traveling to Mountain View and Branson to hear his favorite artists, Rhonda Vincent and Jimmy Fortune. Watching Brenna play volleyball was one of his absolute favorite things. He was her biggest fan, always the loudest one cheering for her.

My daddy lived big, loved big, and laughed even bigger. His presence filled every room, and the silence left behind without him is immeasurable.

Visitation will be held at West Side Church of Christ, 709 W Arch Ave., Searcy, AR 72143 on Tuesday, February 24, at 10:00 a.m., with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Jerry Don Hamm, Stephen Hamm, Rodger Sullivan, Sean Stalnaker, David Mitchell, and Bart Ragland.

Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the 79 years we were blessed to have him. He will always be missed, always be loved, and always be my Daddy.
