Farris Dean Altom, 84, of Searcy went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 4, 2015 at White County Medical Center.
He was born December 22, 1930 in Floral, Arkansas to the late Marvin and Mary Ann (Walker) Altom.
Dean was a United States Army Veteran. He loved playing music. He played bass guitar and he always carried it with him to church. Dean also enjoyed fishing and bird hunting. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years, Letha Altom; sons, Billy Altom (Janet) of Little Rock, Jerry Dean Robinson (Debra) of Greenbrier, and David Maxwell Altom of Mt. Home; one daughter, Sandy Litaker (Burnis) of Searcy; two brothers, Curtis Gwen Altom of Quitman, and Bobby Altom (Martha) of Hot Springs; two sisters, Mary Lee Allen (Tommy) of Batesville, and Debra Kay Haun (Stan) of Mt. Home; five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 8th at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church and interment following at Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Joy.
