Elmer C. Wilson of Searcy, formerly of Mammoth Spring went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, October 25, 2006. Elmer was born May 20, 1918 in Manderson, Wyoming to Ernest and Ermine Wilson. He is survived by his wife Elma M. Wilson of Searcy, one son, Henry Ray Elliott (Judy) of Mesquite, Texas and one daughter, Elizabeth Willson (Walt) of Searcy, and a sister, Gladys Street of Marysville, Washington. He is survived by three grandchildren, David Elliott of Lancaster, Texas, Keith Elliott of Rowlett, Texas, and Tim Elliott of Melrose, Florida, 8 great grandchildren and a host of loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charles Wilson, and sisters Vera Dean and Elsie Knecht.

Elmer was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church in Searcy, a member of Searcy Chapter 382 Order of Eastern Star where he served in many offices, and a member of the Searcy Masonic Lodge No. 49. He was a WWII veteran, and a true member of "Our Greatest Generation" who served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific.
