Doris Faye Tharp

Doris Tharp, 96 of Searcy, AR passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 13, surrounded by her family. Doris was born July 10, 1930 in Stratford, Oklahoma.

Then came to Arkansas where she met Stanley Tharp and was married for 70 wonderful years. Doris led a full life with faith in the Lord; she traveled the US with her husband Stanley as he worked on pipeline construction, making a home for her family where ever it would take them. If you were around her much, she thought of you like one of her own. She was content and happy fishing it didn’t make any difference if they were biting. She was a good homemaker and you would never leave her home hungry. She really enjoyed a good game of cards and dominoes.

She is preceded in death by her husband Stanley Tharp, parents Cal and Mayme Cothren, and grandson Bradley Tharp.

Left to cherish her memory are sons, Gary (Sharon) Tharp, Vilonia AR; Jim (Mel) Tharp, Orange Park FL; daughter Kim (Mike) Knapp, Prim AR. Grandchildren Rodney (Carmen) Tharp, Justin (Heather) Tharp, Tracy (Rob) Hinton, Nick (Lisa) Tharp, Mande (Matt) Herekamp, Jeremy (Chasity) Tharp, Tasha (Dustin) Lindsey, Martha (Keith) Hatfield, Bret (Kayla) Knapp, Brittany (Adam) Stubbs, and many great and great great grandchildren, as well as family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the loving caregivers and hospice she had taking care of her to make her last days comfortable and peaceful.

Visitation will be Monday, October 19, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh Crossroads Church, 659 Crossroads, Higden, AR followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Shiloh Crossroads Cemetery.  Arrangements by Searcy McEuen Funeral Home.  www.searcymceuenfuneralhome.com
