Donel Curtis Brewer
January 24, 1940 – January 9, 2022
Don Brewer, 81, of Beebe passed away Sunday, January 9th. He was born January 24, 1940, in Collinwood, Tennessee to Lewis T. & Bessie Brewer.
Born and raised In Iron City, Tennessee Don graduated from Loretto High School in 1958. Don was working at John Deere in Moline, Illinois when he met and married Virginia Pinkerton in 1959. They had 3 daughters: Sherry, Vicki & Dindy and 1 son, Lenny. The family moved to McRae in 1972.
A faithful member and deacon at the First Baptist Church of McRae he taught the young couple’s class for decades, and also enjoyed leading an adult Sunday school class. Active in missions and prayer ministry he loved God, his family and people and touched many lives.
An avid sports fan, he enjoyed coaching for years and still enjoyed watching his great grandchildren play sports.
Don was proceeded in death by his parents and his wife of 44 years, Virginia and his son, Lenny and his 3 brothers L.T., Glenn and Gentry.
Those he leaves behind with cherished memories include his sister, Mabel Haney, children Sherry (Don) Carter, Vicki (Doug) James, Dindy (Gary) Williams and daughter-in-law Sherry Brewer; grandchildren: Ryan (Emily) Osborne, Amanda (Jonathan) Dobbins, Erik (Tiffany) James, Skyye (Stephen) Barker, Curtiss (Lindsay) Brewer, Coty (Amanda) Williams, Kyle (Tara) Williams, Elisha Carter, and 17 great-grandchildren; his second wife, Yvonne Patterson and bonus daughter Vickie (Lance) Albritton and her children: Adam & Anna Grace.
Visitation is Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and the funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, with both being held at Valley Baptist in Searcy. He will be laid to rest at Weir Cemetery in McRae. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Searcy McEuen Funeral Home in Searcy.
