David Jonathan Parish, age 62, of Searcy, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on May 24, 2026.
He was born in Pascagoula, Mississippi, on September 4, 1963 to Drury “Nathan” and Leola (Musgrove) Parish.
David spent much of his younger years in Grand Bay, Alabama. He lived a number of years along the Gulf Coast region before starting over and settling in Searcy, Arkansas after Hurricane Katrina swept away his possessions. He made a new life for himself where he found peace in his faith in the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He took great pride in serving his community with meaning and purpose, including being an active member of the Higginson community serving as Council Member/Alderman with Mayor Randell Homsley. He was grateful for his friends, especially Cody (Victoria) and Ryan.
David enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, watching Sci-fi, making his world-class chicken and sausage gumbo, spending time with his treasured cats, especially his cat “Little Bear”, and being the biggest fan of Alabama “Roll Tide” or The Saints “Who Dat” football.
He was preceded in death by his father, Drury Preston Parish and brother, Jimmy Preston Parish.
He is survived by his mother, Leola Cannon; his 2 sons Preston and Jonathan (Katie); his daughter Rebekah, 10 grandchildren; his sisters Becky (Jerrell) and Sherry (Mark); 4 nieces and nephews, 5 grandnieces and grandnephews; stepsons Denver and Trevor and their mother Leslie; along with a number of cousins.
David loved and cherished his children, grandchildren, family and friends. His memory will live on in all who knew and loved him.
