Darlene Linda Smith

Darlene Smith, 77, of Searcy, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2026, in Searcy. She was born on May 11, 1949, in Searcy, AR, to Mack and Edoth Martin. 

Darlene was a member of Valley Baptist Church. She loved her family dearly, but her grandchildren held an especially treasured place in her heart. She loved them more than life itself, even when they delighted in teasing her with pretend snakes, knowing just how terrified she was of them. Those playful moments were just a small part of the special bond they shared. 

Darlene also loved to cook, and she never quite knew how to make just a little of anything. Whether she was cooking for a few or a crowd, there was always more than enough to go around. Her love for her family was often expressed through the meals she prepared and the time spent together. 

Affectionately known as "Aunt Da" to her great-nieces and great-nephews, Darlene held a special place in the hearts of her extended family. She will be remembered for her love, the memories she created, and the many ways she made her family feel special. 

She is survived by her son, Randall Martin, and wife, Kelly, of Searcy; her granddaughter, Emma Martin, and fiancé, Hunter McKinney, of Branson, Missouri; and her grandson, Mac Martin, of Searcy. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will cherish her memory.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Edoth Martin; one sister, Erma Dean Roberson; and six brothers, Carlon Martin, Faburn Martin, Vernon Martin, Taburn Martin, Billy Howard Martin, and Dale Martin. 

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 31, 2026, at the Valley Baptist Church, with the memorial service to begin at 11:00 a.m.
