Carolyn Gean Denson

Carolyn Gean Denson spent her first day in Heaven on October 28, 2021. She was born May 13, 1947 in Spearfish, South Dakota to the late Arlie and Alice Barger. She was raised and spent her childhood in Mabelvale, Arkansas, and then owned and operated the beauty salon Artistic Splendor in Little Rock. Carolyn later moved to Dallas, and married Wayne Denson in 1991. Together they owned and operated a small commercial bakery until moving to Searcy to help care for her parents. Carolyn loved serving the Lord and was active in the Searcy First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Cross Class and served others in the Shofar Sisters, Thrift Shop, and Good Sam.


Carolyn is survived by her husband Wayne Denson of Searcy; her sons Brendon Denson and wife Jennifer of San Angelo, Texas, and Kevin Denson and wife Kara of Austin, Texas; grandchildren Colby Denson (attending Texas Tech University) and Carly Kay Denson (anticipated future Arkansas Razorback); sister Rose Gay and husband Randall of Searcy; nephew Dan Elliott and wife Melissa of Cabot and their children Hayden Elliott and Avery Collins and husband Brant; niece Kathryn Hester and husband Wendell of Edmond, Oklahoma, and their children Sydney and Braeden.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Searcy First United Methodist Church at 10:00AM on Monday November 1, 2021, preceded by a short visitation with the family at 9:30AM. The family would like to thank and honor the amazing staff at UAMS and the Myeloma Center in Little Rock. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Carolyn’s memory to the Myeloma Center at UAMS (4301 West Markham Street, Little Rock AR 72205), or the Cornerstone Building at FUMC.

All Cremation Arrangements have been entrusted to Searcy McEuen Funeral Home.
