Carlon Eugene Southerland

Carlon Eugene Southerland, 81, went to be with the Lord, July 14, 2018.  He was the youngest son of Dee and Katherine Southerland.  Carlon was born at Wilbourne, AR, September 26, 1936.  He expressed he was excited to meet his Lord.

Carlon served in the 153rd National Guard Service Company 1953 to 1957.  He pipelined years 1958 to 1959, worked for Wonder Bread for seven years, was assistant manager for Sherwin Williams in Searcy for five years, and manager in Batesville for two years in 1970.  He worked in insurance sales for forty-five years at Southerland Insurance Agency.  He loved helping his customers.

Carlon is survived by he wife, Maxine Cole Southerland of 62 years, two sons; Wade and Adam Southerland, three grandchildren; Amy, Ashley, and Mark, and great-grandchildren; Jordan, Hailey, Samantha, Claydon, Jasmine, Jesse, Katelynn, Carly, and Alyssa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; David and Ernest, and one sister; Ethelene.

The family wishes to thank Arkansas Hospice for their loving care and the support of friends during his illness.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Foster Chapel Cemetery.
