Bruce Duane Belford

October 28, 1958 — March 12, 2024

Bruce Duane Belford, 65, went to be with the Lord on March 12, 2024 at his home in Searcy, AR. He was born on October 28, 1958 to the late Thomas E. and Rapha Jean Belford, in Searcy. Most of his school life was in Indiana.

Bruce married Brenda (Jones) on June 21, 1991. Bruce accompanied her on many educational trips across the United States and Mexico. He often talked about all the interesting adventures, especially enjoying all the historical places.

He recently retired from Walmart DC #6018. Some of his interests included reading and researching the Bible, traveling, and watching military, classic and western movies. Bruce began writing a western novel and had planned to work on that again. In his earlier years, he was also an avid bicyclist. He enjoyed all sports, but his favorite was football and he was a loyal Green Bay Packers fan.

Bruce served in the Army and was stationed in Germany. He was a part of the 8th Division, C Company, 4th Battalion, 69th Armor. While enlisted, he received the Pathfinder Professional Certificate for his outstanding efforts as driver of C-22, greatly contributing to his platoon's selection as High Tank Platoon, for 1978 Level 1 Tank Gunnery. His military achievements included receiving the .45 caliber pistol marksman badge, the good conduct medal, and he achieved expert status in tank weapons. He loved his country and was a true patriot. Most importantly, Bruce knew the Lord Jesus as his Savior and served faithfully at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Searcy, where he was a member.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Belford of Searcy; step-daughter, Kristi (Michael) Tippy of Judsonia; step-grandchildren, Kane (Rebecca) Malnar of Conway, Ashley (Jeremy) Edwards of Judsonia, and Dylan (Audra) Tippy of Searcy; one step-great-grandchild, Opal Carol Malnar of Conway; five siblings, Justin Wade Belford of Searcy, Tommy (Sherry) Belford of Romance, Lori (Kirk) Crawford of Pocohontas, Pamela Belford of Searcy, and Gina (Jerry) Grabill of Evening Shade, and a number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
