Billy Francis Banks

Billy Francis Banks, 83, of Searcy passed away Monday, September 11th at his home. He was born June 8, 1934 in Helena, Arkansas to the late Addie (Ferguson) Banks Malar and James Jacob Banks.

Billy was a member of Westside Church of Christ. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Billy was a family man who loved family gatherings especially during the Holidays. However he would use any excuse to get the family all together. Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 62 years, Sylvia Banks; five children, Ruth Ann Evans (Ronnie) of Searcy, John David “Bud” Banks (Helen) of Monticello, Arkansas, Sherry Burkett (Marc) of Searcy, Cary Banks (Melanie) of Searcy, and Karen Banks Selvidge of Searcy; nine grandchildren, Jason Woody Evans, Brad Evans, Sylvia Stephens, Eathen Banks, Marcus Burkett, Lauren Woods, Ashton Smith, McKenna Banks, and Libby Selvidge; seven great-grandchildren, Natalie Evans, Avery Evans, Harper Evans,  Hudson Woods, Mason Woods, John Marc Burkett, and Lilly Burkett; one brother, Jerry Banks of Sunnydale, California; three sisters, Joyce Turner of Marietta, Georgia, Elizabeth Carter of Cordova, Tennessee, and Judy Cooksey of Marysville, California; and numerous other friends and relatives.

In addition to his parents Billy was preceded in death by one grandson, Seth Banks; and one brother, James Banks.

Memorial services will be Friday, September 15th at 10:00am at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
