Betty Jane Moores

January 14, 1924 — February 28, 2007

Betty Jane (Nichols) Moores, 83, passed away with grace, dignity and courage on Wednesday, Febraury 28, 2007, at Searcy, AR. She was born January 14, 1924 in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Kenneth Nichols and Clara (Wryz) Nichols.

She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Suzanne (Dick) Faunce of Toledo, OH, Kathleen (and the late Paul) Hollosi of Searcy, AR, and Carol Valentine of Banning, CA; one sister, June Christophers of Beaumont, TX; four grandchildren, Terry (Janelle) Faunce, Amy Sue (Jay) Rodgers, Brent Hollosi and Eric Valentine; and one great-grandchild, Amanda Cooke.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Charles Moores; parents, Kenneth and Clara Nichols; two brothers, Jack and William Nichols; and one sister, Sue Ann Knerr. Betty also had a brother, Robert Nichols, who was missing in action during the Korean War.

Betty was a homemaker her entire life, enjoyed the outdoors, fishing trips, traveling, loved sports, and always at her side was her beloved husband, and after he retired, they relocated from Toledo, Ohio, to own and operate Angler's Resort in Butternut, Wisconsin. She was a member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Searcy, Arkasnas.

Betty was the best mom anyone could ever ask for and nothing on earth can separate us, not time, not space and not even death. Mom, you will always walk with us. She was honest, hardworking, very giving and kind-hearted. And all whoever met her, met a friend.

The family wishes to thank Byrd Haven and Hospice for the care given to Betty during her illness. Many special thanks and appreciation go to her favorite nurses and aides at Byrd Haven and Hospice - we don't have to tell you who you are - you went that extra mile and beyond to always make her feel she was your best friend and not just another patient. God bless all of you!

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2610 S. Main Street, Searcy, AR, on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Steve Miguet officiating. The family will receive friends at a luncheon immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions in her name to the American Cancer Society or Hospice Home Care, Inc., 106 S. Spring Street, Searcy, AR.
