Alma Sue Phillips departed this life Wednesday September 5,2018 after a long illness.

Alma Sue (Turner) Phillips was born in Searcy, Arkansas April 18, 1944 to Union Gary Turner and Hanna Violetta Simpson Turner

After graduating from White County Training school, Alma attended Southwestern Christian College and Harding University with a major in music.

She married Otis Lamont Phillips, a corporal in the United States Marines.

Along with her angelic voice and love of singing, she also loved baking, cake decorating and writing special occasion cards.

She was a cherished and devoted member of the Airport  Loop Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her husband,Lamont who was killed in the Vietnam war. Her mother and father, four sisters, Lucille Nance, Rubye Webb and Flora Sawyer, Bessie Turner, and two brothers, Thomas Turner and Gilbert Turner.

She leaves to mourn a host of nieces, two of whom she helped raise Rubye Farrah and Tasha Lakaye and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and friends.
